What is anti-aging medicine?
What comes to mind when you hear the term "anti-aging"? Most would think some type of beauty product, whether that means a topical facial cream, masks, shampoos, conditioners or laser treatments. However, Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine is actually a "medical specialty of active scientific research aimed at the early prevention, detection, treatment and reversal of age-related decline." It has become a remarkably cutting-edge field of medicine. A legitimate, well trained anti-aging and regenerative medicine specialist will be certified as a diplomat of the American Board of Anti-Aging Medicine. I have earned this certification and practice in the in the Liberty Lake area.

Tired of unwanted hair?
Laser hair removal could be the answer. What's all the hype? You know all of that unwanted hair you shave or pluck away almost every day of your life? Well say goodbye to it forever! You may have questions like: does it hurt? How long does it take? How many treatments are required? Here's what you can expect: laser hair removal is pretty painless. Each individual's pain threshold is different, but the treatment is most often described as very tolerable. To help make it more comfortable, our laser is equipped with a cooling system that quickly diminishes any mild pain created during the laser process.

You can have hair permanently removed, wrinkles on your face smoothed out, discolored spots on your skin erased and spider veins on your legs... gone. Laser technology is also used to close wounds with less scarring and a speedier healing process. Laser technology has made amazing advances over the past decade, but never one as exciting as the new cold laser that melts fat!

It is exciting to see options available for autistic spectrum disorder in children and adolescents. One of these options is low-level laser therapy that has been found to be an effective tool for some symptoms associated with autism. A study from the Institute for Neurology and Neurosurgery in Havana, Cuba called “The Effects of Low-Level Laser Therapy in Autism Spectrum Disorder” and published in Advances in Experimental Medicine and Biology, shows real promise for children suffering from autism because it examined the effectiveness of low-level laser therapy for the treatment of irritability symptoms associated with autistic spectrum disorder in children and adolescents aged 5-17. The study reported that low-level laser therapy or cold laser therapy can be an effective tool for reducing irritability and other symptoms and behaviors associated with the autistic spectrum disorder in children and adolescents. Prior to clinical trial, FDA approval and input were obtained and the study used the 640nm Erchonia Laser to treat autistic children.

With the right wavelength, appropriate settings and accurately spaced time between treatments, laser hair removal is incredibly effective and results in 90 percent permanent hair reduction. Many patients ask why this is not 100 percent. The fact is, as we age, we go through hormonal changes. These hormonal changes can trigger new hair growth patterns. Sometimes women will produce hair growth on their face after menopause.
Low-Level Laser Therapy
Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) is the use of red monochromatic light to enhance the body's natural healing processes. The light source is placed on the skin, allowing the light energy (photons) to penetrate tissue where it interacts to increase circulation and help restore normal cellular function. LLLT does not break the skin, as do surgical lasers.
