Cd'A: Welcome to Ferguson
I am proposing that the name of Coeur d’Alene be changed to Ferguson. Ours is the most recent city to find a white police officer guilty of murder. This time a black dog. That qualifies us to make the citizens of Coeur d’Alene a racist city! I never thought that Coeur d’Alene residents or The Press would buy into a mob mentality that was to be spread by mob violence and the general press. Has no one ever been frightened by a dog? I would suggest each of us has been at one time or another in our life!
DEBATE: One more word
Lee Gibson says he is shocked to hear what happened to Cecil Kelly. I imagine he feels the same about the bombs and murder of 11 Jewish people. I’m not buying it. Trump’s big mouth caused all of this, even a 10-year-old could figure that out. I think Gibson finally figured out that his hero (Trump) is a lying phony and doesn’t want to admit it. He also says he likes a good debate. I guess calling names and making fun of people who were exposed to Agent Orange is his idea of a debate.

PERRY: Heat is on this candidate
In 2010, the Texas Association of Firefighters backed Rick Perry for governor. Today they're paying for it - literally. The Texas Forest Service says, "No one on the face of this Earth has fought fires under these extreme conditions." Chief Henry Perry, of the Bastrop City Fire Department, said of the wild fires, "That fire department has been on this fire every day. Before this fire, they were having to buy stuff out of their own pockets."
KINDNESS: Served up with a burger
My wife and I decided to go to McDonald’s for a sandwich Wednesday after a frustrating morning of septic issues. Having done some digging, we were not dressed for success, so to speak.
Big political jolts
Specter loses in Pennsylvania, Paul wins in Kentucky
WASHINGTON - Party-switching Sen. Arlen Specter fell to a younger and far less experienced rival in the Pennsylvania Democratic primary, and political novice Rand Paul rode support from tea party activists to a Republican rout in Kentucky on Tuesday, the latest jolts to the political establishment in a tumultuous midterm election season.
No, it's not a new tax
The Supreme Court has taken a sideline seat in the fight between traditional and online retailers. Perhaps ironically, the high court's decision to essentially allow states to pursue online sales tax dollars came on Cyber Monday, the busiest Web shopping day of the year.

The CDA Press informative five-part series on social media was a most accurate description. The writer, Mr. Black, asks if we should be concerned that we are viewing inaccurate information if not outright lies on social media?

Coffee buzz: Study finds java drinkers live longer
Numbers showed that each cup per day nudges up chances of a longer life
MILWAUKEE - One of life's simple pleasures just got a little sweeter. After years of waffling research on coffee and health, even some fear that java might raise the risk of heart disease, a big study finds the opposite: Coffee drinkers are a little more likely to live longer. Regular or decaf doesn't matter.
County fires back in land use debate
Kootenai County's ordinance consultant, Kendig Keast Collaborative, will be giving a presentation on the Procedures and Processes proposed in the new Unified Land Use Code (ULUC). The idea of this workshop is to provide a summary of what has been learned thus far, including a public discussion of the initial draft text for these topics. The procedures and processes of the new code are critically important components of the project. The public, agencies and all interested parties are strongly encouraged to attend and participate. We welcome and encourage your ideas and participation.
