If a newly proposed director evaluation policy that includes a section on performance probation conflicts with the present personnel policy by which the Community Library Network operates, director evaluation policy committee members are ready to wait and see what legal counsel says. “The personnel manual either applies or it doesn’t apply," Community Library Network board Vice Chair Tom Hanley said Tuesday during the committee's first official public meeting, a recording of which can be found at communitylibrary.net.

Trustees were in alignment Monday evening, unanimously approving several policies and a land acquisition resolution during a regular meeting of the Coeur d’Alene school board. Risk from actions of the board majority of the Community Library Network continue to rise. Trustees Ottosen, Plass and Hanley are adding liability and eroding CLN’s safeguards; they are actively harming the library network. In just six months they’ve violated agreements, cut funding while increasing expenses, disregarded legal advice, and tried to demoralize staff.
