TEACHER: That's how kids learn

Hats off and high fives to Melissa Giles, PE teacher at Skyway Elementary! Her creative use of pumpkins and kitchen scraps looked to be a great success with her students. These are the kinds of high interest activities that challenge our kids to think, create and work together. I don’t know about you, but decorating pumpkins is a whole lot more interesting way to learn about food groups than the way I was taught!

CDA SCHOOL LEVY: Vote yes

Hi! I’m Elizabeth Franklin. I’m in second grade at Dalton Elementary. Here are my reasons why you should vote yes. Will we be safe without an SRO? What will we do when a kid is having a tantrum without a counselor? Will the people who teach our special classes like art, music, library, PE and technology have to get new jobs? Will kids get indoor fun? I hope elementary kids don’t have to suffer.

Eczema, or atopic dermatitis, is a red, itchy rash that affects up to 30 million Americans, many of whom are children. Ranging in severity from mild, slightly itchy dry patches in small, isolated areas, to angry, inflamed rashes covering large portions of the body, eczema can make a person anywhere from annoyed to miserable. People with eczema also frequently suffer from asthma and allergies, and although conventional medicine considers eczema to have “no known cause,” there is growing evidence that it is an autoimmune condition.
