What the President must do to counter Russian aggression
A gentleman recently asked what kind of action I thought the President should take to punish Vladimir Putin for his hostile acts against the United States. Things to watch for
I frequently search for wine on the internet. Not to buy of course, but to find pictures of the labels so we can include them in our weekly wine special, the “Friday Night Flights,” or for tasting notes from the producers to see if the winemaker got the same things from their wine as I did. I also search to find wine for our customers when they request we special order some of their favorites that we don’t have on our shelves. All of this and other reasons lead to a lot of internet searches.

Guns you want back, sales guys you don't
Pony Express on U.S. 95 recently closed without notice due to the failing health of the owner, who has now passed away. A number of consumers who had placed their guns on consignment with Pony Express have contacted me, wanting to know who had custody of their firearms. I was given the number of attorney Jeff Andrews in Hayden as the person to coordinate the return of the property. I called his office over a week ago. My call has not been returned. I was told a detective at the Kootenai County Sheriff's Office was working on this matter. I recommended a consumer call the detective. He did and reported the detective referred him back to attorney Andrews. This is the kind of circular referral that drives people nuts! Finally, I called the Coeur d'Alene Police Department's non-emergency number, (208) 769-2320). They said they'd be willing to take a police report from anyone unable to locate their firearm.

SPOILED: Sorry, but we are
As I read the opinions Oct. 17, two items struck me as how spoiled we are. First a cartoon of a boy telling his sister, who was online with Amazon, that dad said when he was a kid, they had to drive to the store to buy things. Second was an opinion/complaint of having to walk to the end of the driveway to get the paper in snow and ice rather than have it placed on the doorstep. I respect her at 70 having fear of falling.
