Nonagenarian dancing to 100
DEAR DR. GOTT: I will be 93 this month and have been blessed with good health all my life. My recent medical checkup was good, and everything was normal. However, during the past year, I have noticed my walking has become somewhat laborious and stressful. Even a small incline on the street makes walking more difficult. I have a little dog, and she needs to be walked.

What you don't know about SEO can kill you
SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization and it's a subject matter we've looked closely into and have touched upon in most of the articles in this section. The reason for its frequent appearance is obvious - it's really that important. It is imperative that the business owner operating in this era learn as much as possible about SEO. In most cases it relates directly to the effectiveness of your website, and if you don't yet have a website, kindly fasten your seatbelt and get moving on building one immediately!

More data you can use
Last week our statistical summary focused on the single family home market since that is where most of our readers are thought to reside. There is however more to our real estate story and many of you are likely to make use of that information as well.
Off to a great start
Hampered by the lowest inventory in years our local real estate market keeps moving. Lack of available homes though have slowed some areas yet price increases reflect that — at least in the lower priced homes — sellers are in the driver’s seat. We are still showing 17 percent fewer site-built homes available than at this time last year and those homes are selling 41 percent faster. Last year’s average days on market was 220 days. This year the average is 120 days, which means an already low inventory is being absorbed quickly leaving us with only about 3.7 months of available housing in some price ranges.
Who needs a florist?
We made it! Finally got past May 15 and can plant away. The stores are full of annual flowering plants, vegetable starts and perennials. Also lots of trees and shrubs. You name it; they've got it. Just be careful when you're buying perennials. Read the labels to be sure the plant is hardy for our zone 5 area. Big box stores are notorious for bringing in tropical plants and palming them off onto unsuspecting gardeners. These might look good for the summer, but once the first killing frost hits next fall, they are never seen again... not even one little leaf. Save your money and your heartache. Buy from the local greenhouses.
