Vandals stumble in home loss to Northern Arizona
"Credit Northern Arizona, they played like the experienced team that they are,” Idaho coach Alex Pribble said on the Vandals' postgame radio show. “But we need to have consistency on defense; we have to find a way to come up with some stops.”

OPINION: Idaho Kids Covered report
December brings on the holidays, such a wonderful time of year. The kids come home. They cook and play music for us. Gifts are exchanged. A tree is harvested. It’s placed in the living room and decorated. The dog freaks out. We laugh together, and the feelings all around are good beyond description.

COMMENTARY: Idaho needs the Quality Education Act
A citizen’s initiative, the Quality Education Act, will be on the ballot in November. In the initiative big corporations (C Corporations, not S corps or small family owned businesses) will see their taxes returned to 8%. That is still far less tax than you or I pay. Additionally, individuals earning more than $250,000 and married couples earning more than $500,000 will pay a small 4% tax increase on the funds earned over those amounts. If you earn less than $250,000 a year, your taxes will not increase one cent.

OPINION: Idaho Freedom Foundation misinforms about the education initiative
The ill-named Idaho Freedom Foundation, which essentially owns and operates the extremist branch of today’s Republican Party, wants to destroy the Gem State’s public school system. As recent as Aug. 8, IFF President Wayne Hoffman repeated his demand for the state to get out of the “education business.” That seems to be a tall order since the Idaho Constitution requires the Legislature to “maintain a general, uniform and thorough system of public, free common schools.” Hoffman claims our “school system is largely transforming into an indoctrination camp built not to teach students reading, writing, and arithmetic, but rather a center teaching them rioting, resistance, and race war.” It seems like Hoffman desperately needs a crash course on what dedicated teachers across Idaho are doing to educate our kids with the insufficient resources they receive from the Legislature.

OPINION: Idahoans must show that the Gem State is too great for hate
Back in the early 1980s, when Idahoans in the Coeur d’Alene area were confronted with a growing number of dangerous hatemongers at the Aryan Nations compound near Hayden, the community swung into action. Father Bill Wassmuth, Tony Stewart, Norm Gissel and many other good people formed the Kootenai County Task Force on Human Relations to counter the hate group and protect local citizens. The Task Force was able to rid Idaho of the hate group after a contentious struggle lasting more than a decade.
