Aubrey Sargent prepares to send the ball for the Thorns North FC 11 Girls Academy soccer team, which wrapped up league play last weekend with its final four games. The Thorns started with a 1-0 loss to the Spokane Sounders G2011 South Rave. Next up was a 3-1 win against Ew Surf G10/11 Paulouse Black Brown. Brightyn Gatten scored in the first half with an assist from Victoria Howard for the Thorns. Kylie Lorona and Presley Moreau each scored a goal in the second half. Next the Thorns took on EW Surf G11 White Velsco. Both Presley Moreau and Kyle Lorona scored a goal helping the girls to a 2-1 victory. Their final game of the weekend was against Spokane Sounders G2011 Valley. The Thorns' only goal of the game came on a PK from Presley Moreau. Keepers Constance Ovendale and Mackenzie Dolan held the opponents to only three goals for the weekend. Next up for the Thorns North FC 11G Academy is the Bill Eisenwinter Hot Shot Tournament in the Coeur d'Alene area, and in Spokane Valley.
