Two dozen members of the Coeur d'Alene Area Swim Team attended the 43rd annual Washington Open last weekend, a swim meet which drew nearly 1,300 athletes from around the western U.S. to Federal Way, Wash. Two local swimmers placed in the top 24 in at least one race, qualifying for finals among the several hundred swimmers in each event. Logan Robillard (14) placed 20th in the 1,000 freestyle and 22nd in the 500 freestyle, while Lanis Webb (15) placed 22nd in the 200 backstroke. Gabby Garasky (12), swimming against athletes up to six years her senior, broke seven CAST  team records in the 11-12 girls age group: the 100 freestyle, 500 freestyle, 50 backstroke, 100 backstroke, 200 backstroke, 100 butterfly, and 200 butterfly.
