The Coeur d’Alene Lumbermen 16-and-under Legion baseball team went 5-0 last weekend to win the Sgt. Nick Kimmel Invitational “A” Legion tournament in Moses Lake, Wash. For the tourney, the Lums had a combined team .395 BA and .496 OBP. Brandon Filler provided the pop in the middle of the order and Alex Karns threw a complete game in the semifinals against the Moses Lake Sun Devils. The Lums won the championship game 15-14 against the Walla Walla Griz in the bottom of the seventh with a walk-off hit by Riley Smith.
