The Coeur dAlene Crush 04 girls fastpitch softball team won the 12-and-under championship game at the USA Explosion tournament in Coeur dAlene on June 23-25. The Crush won all three pool play games. First was an 8-0 win over the Spokane Valley Bandits in five innings. Madi Cleave pitched a no-hitter. The Crush beat the Ronan Mighty Raiders 19-1 in four innings. The Coeur dAlene Lumbermen 16-and-under Legion baseball team went 5-0 last weekend to win the Sgt. Nick Kimmel Invitational A Legion tournament in Moses Lake, Wash. For the tourney, the Lums had a combined team .395 BA and .496 OBP. Brandon Filler provided the pop in the middle of the order and Alex Karns threw a complete game in the semifinals against the Moses Lake Sun Devils. The Post Falls Blast 12-and-under fastpitch softball team took first place at the Fury Fastpitch Summer Sizzler in the 12U division June 24-25 at Frenchtown (Mont.) High. After pool play on Saturday, the Blast beat the tournament hosts Fury 12U, MT Avalanche–Gagner, and the Polson Purple Wave teams on Sunday in single-elimination bracket games.
