OPINION: Just like everyone else, Idaho’s Attorney General must comply with the law
Three years ago, I joined five other former Idaho Attorneys General in describing that important position as “the …
COURT: What about morality?
President Obama stated, “Justice has struck like a thunder bolt.” He went on to say we have taken another step toward equality. The Supreme Court has now made it legal for all 50 states to treat same-sex marriages …
COURT: An insult to all Christians
As a Christian I cannot be silent. How can the president of the United States applaud the U.S. Supreme court for its decision on “same-sex marriage,” which is an abomination against a Holy God, and then sing “Amazi…
FLAG: Just be consistent
Under the Confederate States constitution, no slaves were allowed to be brought into this country under the Confederate flag. Hundreds of thousands were kidnapped and brought into this country under the American fl…
AVISTA: Say no to surcharges
I wish all of us could charge someone when we lose money like Avista and others seem to be able to do. We all try to conserve energy so we can make the payments; now they want to make us pay for that double. It’s a…
FLAG: It's all about history
For my ancestors, the Civil War was not about slavery. My ancestors did not own slaves. They were farmers born in South Carolina who fought to protect their land, their families and their livelihood. Some proudly n…

AVISTA: Answer these questions
On June 19, The Press printed an article, “Avista seeks new billing mechanism.” After reading the article I was left with many questions on how this would affect the consumer for affordable utilities.
CLIMATE: A scientist speaks
Kudos to Mr. Gerards on his My Turn column on the current religion of man-caused climate change. I am a few credits short of a Ph.D. in engineering science and have 12 years in aerospace designing and testing rocke…
FLAG: Bet you didn't know
The Confederate flag is similar to the Betsy Ross flag. It features a blue field with 13 stars formed in a circular ring, just like Betsy Ross’. However it only has three broad red and white stripes. No one would p…
