Three years ago, I joined five other former Idaho Attorneys General in describing that important position as “the …
KKK: Not welcome here
No, No, No, No to the KKK! This organization decidedly seeks and persecutes another RACE and is completely un-American. Citizens, individually, and the cities of Coeur d’Alene, Hayden, Post Falls, and the rest shou…
HEARN: Here for long haul
I have lived in Coeur d’Alene for four years. Is four years enough time to represent the voters of District 4? Is four years enough time to understand the consequences of decisions made by the state Legislature? Is…

Re: the AP Vice Presidential debate fact check story by the AP, run on page A3 of Wednesday’s Press:

Sherri Ybarra’s guest opinion to the Coeur d’Alene Press was interesting but ultimately, naive. She wants more teachers? First of all, she should ask the people who want to teach more teachers in North Idaho why th…
CHRIS: Needs your help
One of our favorite summertime activities is to enjoy the Sunday afternoon Concert in the Park series, held most Sundays from late June through early September. These family-friendly events are held at the Rotary B…
BARBIERI: Sails under false colors
The phrase “sailing under false colors” was a reference to a tactic used by pirates roaming the seas to attack vessels with desired booty. By hoisting a friendly flag, the unsuspecting ship would allow the pirates’…
