FACTS: Double trouble

Re: the AP Vice Presidential debate fact check story by the AP, run on page A3 of Wednesday’s Press:

REPUBLICAN MIKE PENCE: The fact that under this administration, we’ve almost doubled the national debt is atrocious…”

THE “FACTS”: As a share of the total U.S. economy, the national debt has gone up 35 percent, not a doubling.

The national debt has risen from $9 trillion to $19 trillion during this past administration.

That’s a doubling — unless your agenda is to bend over backward to deliberately skew the math to aid Hillary and generate every possible negative story about Trump and the Republican ticket.
