OPINION: Just like everyone else, Idaho’s Attorney General must comply with the law
Three years ago, I joined five other former Idaho Attorneys General in describing that important position as “the …
RACISM: Here's the cure
This country needs to take a deep breath and calm down for five seconds. Watching national news over the last year, there’s no shortage of self-proclaimed experts rushing to a microphone or keyboard to tell us what…
BOOMERS: Not the bad guys
I have been a resident of Kootenai County since 1976 and taken The Press most of this time, although now we are RVing, I still keep in touch with home base by taking The Press online. Many times I have felt like wr…
OSPREY: A bird's-eye view
We’ve been watching the Coeur d’Alene osprey camera for some time. Mom and occasionally Dad sat on the nest for weeks and in early June we had three tiny chicks! The parents were non-stop feeding them 24/7 and they…
FAIR: A standing ovation
My wife and I had a booth at the fair. She dropped one of our glass products, and it shattered. She received two very nasty cuts on her leg as a result. The first aid people responded very quickly, stopping the flo…
PUNISHMENT: A head's up
I have an idea to possibly deter terrorists, jihadists, extremists and other two-legged jackals bent on killing innocent people.
PATRIOT: Small boy, big heart
The very cute picture in Tuesday’s paper of 2-year-old Weston Buhl holding his hand over his heart during the National Anthem at the rodeo really highlights what a total jerk Michael Bennett of the Seahawks is for …
SHERIFF: Wages never enough
Is it just me or does it seem every time our fearless city council (Hagadone’s council) votes on a tax increase or pay increase, Ben Wolfinger is never satisfied and wants more pay, again, for his KCSO. The public …
CAMERON: Now read this

CAMERON: Unfair, off base
Regarding Steve Cameron’s column Thursday. I don’t know where to begin other than to say how dare you use your column to vilify our president AND an entire block of United States citizens, calling all PRESIDENT TRU…
AVISTA: A foreign alarm
Just recently Avista Utilities was sold to a Canadian company. It didn’t take long to see that they already want to do rate hikes to gouge us. That’s not the biggest problem. We have an electric company in the Unit…
CAMERON: 'Nuff said
Please end Steve Cameron’s column. I enjoy reading the LOCAL paper. He lives in San Francisco. I fail to see how the insights of a guy who chooses to live in a place where men dressed as nuns performing lewd acts o…
CAMERON: Insight appreciated
Steve Cameron’s column in The Press is very well-written and puts the current president’s actions in a fair prospective, not that he is the only politician to cry media bias. Cameron is dead on with his opinions re…
CAMERON: The truth prevails
I would like to congratulate Steve Cameron and The Press for their great work in printing the truth. We never heard of “fake” news until we had a fake president. I also agree with everything Ron Dayton and Mort Kra…
CAROUSEL: Not done yet
I was upset by recent letters by Betty Martin and Judy Norton regarding the carousel. It is certainly a case of no good deed going unpunished! I believe both ladies would have held their comments had they done any …
CAROUSEL: Criticism a bit late
Judy Norton recently wrote a letter to the editor asking some interesting questions regarding the Coeur d’Alene Carousel.
