OPINION: Just like everyone else, Idaho’s Attorney General must comply with the law
Three years ago, I joined five other former Idaho Attorneys General in describing that important position as “the …
ROSE: Reasons for support
- Change is desperately needed.
CHRISTIANS: Matters of faith
Surveys disagree on the percentage of church kids who leave the church after graduation. Or graduate from God.
THANKS: What a community
My message is for all the people who helped my 91-year-old mom when she was assaulted and robbed recently. From neighbors helping bring groceries in, friends bringing food, and all of the support from phone calls a…
BUZZFEED: More like scuzzfeed
It’s sad that in Mike Patrick’s desperate attempt to denigrate the Kootenai County Republican Central Committee in both Sunday’s (Oct. 29) front-page article and editorial that he would embrace Buzzfeed which is th…
CIVILITY: Contagious is good
Larry Frei, thank you for the kind and thoughtful letter in Wednesday’s paper. We need to offer kindness to people who have a different opinion than we do. My first response is usually not printable, but then I thi…
BASEBALL: I never knew
I grew up near Green Bay, Wis., so football is the only sport I’ve watched. However, I have loved watching this World Series and perhaps you baseball fans can clarify something for me. The announcer asked everyone …

The question of deduction of state taxes on one’s federal return has been hot the last few days. It is a tough question and I would like someone to tell me if my take on the subject has any merit.
CONNER: Question of election
Does honesty matter? Absolutely, most especially for a public official.
BUZZ: Act, don't complain
The article about the local GOP by Ms. Petersen should have been on the editorial page as it was mostly opinion.
BUZZ: Acronym challenge accepted
No, I did not read Anne Helen Petersen’s BuzzFeed article giving her view of local Republican Party problems. It seemed to be enough for me to read The Press’ not-very-objective Sunday editorial on the subject. Hop…
D.C.: Oh, what a mess
For the life of me, I cannot understand the miscommunication going on in the White House. Schuller, McCain and Graham have no clue what’s going on with our troops in Africa. Why don’t they know? They are working fo…
CLIMATE: Cyclical in nature
Regarding your Sunday, Oct. 22 article on climate change, one sentence bothered me. That was a claim, and, perhaps by a writer or editor, that global warming is man caused.
