OPINION: Just like everyone else, Idaho’s Attorney General must comply with the law
Three years ago, I joined five other former Idaho Attorneys General in describing that important position as “the …
GUNS: A Democrat's view
As a gun-loving lifetime hunter, I take much offense at the remarks of the obviously mean-spirited, antagonistic, fearful, misinformed and hallucinogenic participants of the Gun Rally that was published in “fake ne…
HONOR: A veteran's perspective
This week I had the privilege of going on the Honor Flight to Washington, D.C., being a Vietnam Veteran. First, I want to say a big “thank you” to all who help make this possible. You know our nation is great becau…
ADLER: Lacks objectivity
David Adler’s article on May 8 gave a nice razzle-dazzle on why conservatives should go against Trump. Seems like a pitch in reverse psychology. One thing that was absent in his home-vacuum sales pitch was a rogue …
TRUMP: Deportation dems' fault
Re: Students protest as high school senior faces deportation (by Anita Snow). President Trump had offered a settlement to the DACA students last year and it was rejected, hands down, by the Democrats! Had they work…

GOP: Differences are healthy
A Press reporter is amused that the local Republican Party has disagreements over a number of political issues. Presumably, this fellow has no problem with Democrats disagreeing over political issues. Perhaps he fe…
SOCIALISM: Its place in capitalism
Words like socialism and communism have been bandied about recently on TV and in newspapers. They are often put in the context of being the opposite of capitalism and being synonymous with each other. The truth is …
CULTURE: What it means here
They use the word “culture.” America has no culture. We are and always have been a mix of people. America is an idea; nothing more than that.
LETTER: Right about a wrong
A big ‘thank you’ to Linda Coppom — 4-28-19 — for expressing my exact thoughts on Nils’ attempt to be clever. Quite disgusting I must say and by the way, his column has become repetitive and rather mundane.
