GOP: Differences are healthy

A Press reporter is amused that the local Republican Party has disagreements over a number of political issues. Presumably, this fellow has no problem with Democrats disagreeing over political issues. Perhaps he feels that Democrats are simply refining their party’s views while Republicans are stumbling around in the dark when they go through the very same process. All political parties do this unless they are in a totalitarian state, in which case those with differing views are quickly eliminated! To the uninformed, this may appear to be the result of sophisticated thinking rather than heads rolling.

As for the gunslingers, if I was in Los Angeles and walked into a coffee shop and saw two guys with guns I would run for my life! Here in Coeur d’Alene, I went to a Republican Central Committee meeting and had an attractive young lady about 50 years younger than me sit by my side. I looked at her without being too obvious and noticed that she was wearing a six-shooter on her hip. I wasn’t even slightly afraid, but I’m not a journalist — so I felt safe.
