OPINION: Just like everyone else, Idaho’s Attorney General must comply with the law
Three years ago, I joined five other former Idaho Attorneys General in describing that important position as “the …
MY TURN: Strain was right on
On Aug. 2, I read the guest opinion in “My Turn” written by C.J. Strain. What a wonderful and insightful article. I felt the same way when I saw the front-page photo and degradation that The Press writer published.…
FISH: Mountain of wasted dollars
I was driving down Seltice on my way home from work the other day thinking, “I really need something to spend my money on.” Lo and behold, I spotted a swarm of bubble-eyed fish skeletons flying on poles right in th…
EASTSIDE: Highway workers are top notch
I would like to say Thank You to our hardworking friends and crew at the Eastside Highway District.
ANARCHISTS: They're running GOP, NRA
Patty McEwen warns us the Communists have invaded the Democratic Party (Letters, Coeur d’Alene Press, July 17).
PETITIONS: What that clapping meant
Mary Souza is an embarrassment to Coeur d’Alene and to Idaho. Amazing she was ever elected when she apparently has no idea how the “petition” process works.

Saw Kootenai County wants a 3% increase this year, but just a couple of months ago we saw in the Coeur d’Alene Press that assessments in the county increased 11% overall. I would guess that over the next few weeks …

MONUMENTS: Let history live
In Sunday’s History Corner, Syd Albright asks the question: “Why would anyone want to tear down the statue of Robert E. Lee?” Predictably, a visiting reader from Seattle had a politically correct answer in Wednesda…
INTERNET: Down and definitely out
I would normally write a letter to the editor by email … and that would be true, if my internet actually worked. Unfortunately, it is only on every once in a while.
ADDICT: Hear my apologies
My name is Jason Smith. I am an addict currently incarcerated at the Kootenai County Jail. I’m not even sure if this letter will even be printed since I’m not spitting an opinion or complaining about something with…
LAKELAND: Growth should pay for bond
Lakeland School District has the audacity to ask homeowners to consider yet another levy. This greed will not stop until we say NO, enough is enough.
INITIATIVE: The motive was clear
The least answered question at Tuesday’s Ballot Initiative forum presented by Reclaim Idaho was what motivated the introduction of Senate Bill 1159, which limits the people’s right to the initiative process? The an…
Cd'A Press, you're bigots on parade
Calling out Craig Northrup for this “article” of July 28, 2019, Racism on Parade? As a staff writer, Craig represents the Cd’A Press and fell down (hard) from his normally capable attempts at journalism. I have see…
