Three years ago, I joined five other former Idaho Attorneys General in describing that important position as “the …
CAMERON: Watch your language
Steve Cameron, your column in the Oct. 18 was so dumb. You called a person a whore! Couldn’t you come up with another word to describe LeBron James? In the same day, George Sayler wrote such a good heart message. W…
CITYLINK: Monument to the elite
I can’t believe it! A year or so ago the veterans who can’t afford a car or the gas, the young people who work at menial wages, the elderly who can no longer drive to their doctor and some with their only enjoyment…
NGUYEN: Gift from Humanities Council
The Idaho Humanities Council presented a stellar event Friday night featuring Viet Thanh Nguyen, author, professor, and Pulitzer Prize winner, who came to the U.S. at age 4 as a refugee. He and his brother were sep…
ROETTER: Reasons for support
Would you please consider voting for Matt Roetter’s second term on the Hayden City Council? Matt is very involved in our Hayden community. Matt and Karen have lived in Hayden for 38 years and their three daughters …
GENDER: Boys, girls and the Bible
How many legs does a dog have if you call his tail a leg? Four. Saying that a tail is a leg doesn’t make it a leg. (Abraham Lincoln)
TRUMP: His own worst enemy
With friends like Trump, who needs enemies? Just ask the Kurds and our allies. Troops coming home; since when is Iraq home? Trump’s typical M.O.; create a crisis and after hundreds of civilians are killed, then tak…
GOOKIN: Good with flashlight

WOOD: Vote for public safety
It is vitally important to elect someone to City Council who will consider crime rates when they analyze “growth studies” or consider zoning changes. Christie Wood is the only candidate with a street perspective ru…
WOOD: We're sick of her
On Sunday, Oct. 27 I purchased a Coeur d’Alene Press, opened to the letter to the editor section and read Tom Cronin’s jaded view of Christie Wood (AKA Liberal, hetero-phobic, Anti-gun Democrats).
WOOD: You can trust Christie
I am supporting Christie Wood for the Coeur d’Alene City Council.
ROETTER: Earns vote after vetting
Candidate vetting is vitally important to obtain an accurate history for any candidate. I’ve seen it happen time and time again where a candidate makes claims that prove untrue through a thorough vetting process. S…

An Acrostic to Elaine Price, Candidate for Coeur d’Alene City Council.
