Three years ago, I joined five other former Idaho Attorneys General in describing that important position as “the …
AIDE: There's more to story
In response to your "Coming to his aide" story I have to express disbelief at how poorly researched this article was. I wonder how the Parrett family gets so much attention from the Coeur d'Alene Press. This family…
MORMONS: Find out for yourself
Recently, Pastor Paul VanNoy wrote that he's concerned about the "blurry lines being created by LDS members" in presenting their views of the gospel. This implies that there's a new and sophisticated attack to bewa…
CHARTER: Pssst: It's a great school
I don't know if everyone is aware of it, but one of the top ranked schools in the nation is located on Kathleen Avenue. It is the Coeur d'Alene Charter Academy and it is not only ranked nationally in academics, but…
RELIGION: Stow the personal attacks

HAMMOND: Best fit for NIC leader
If we could get Jim Hammond to accept the position of president of North Idaho College, we would go a long way in getting the best of the best. He truly understands North Idaho and the educational needs as well as …
MOON: Not high on priority list
Newt's 2020 moon colony proposal. Before we do that we have a lot of things to do on our planet, in America, for example rebuild our streets, bridges, factories, high-speed trains, plus 1,000 other urgently needed …
FEES: How they hurt community
After having just read the letter by Robert Thomas in the Sunday paper about impact fees and the relation to the inflation of costs of goods and services, I have something to add in agreement with him.
ALCOHOL: More state control needed
Privatize alcohol sale in Idaho, NEVER, since the 1933 control of sales of spirits has only become more liberal each year. Seventeen studies found that after privatization, alcohol sales increased by an average of …
