If you hang them, they will come!
My Garden Path
Hang them? Of course, I mean hummingbird feeders. I put mine up on April 15, as I usually do. (That seems to be a good time here in Post Falls). Anyway, I was rewarded with the first hummingbird chug a lugging the very next day! Some years they don't appear for a week or more, but they were right on time this year. Who needs those swallows that return to Capistrano? I'll take the hummers every time.

Is history about to repeat itself?
This month marks the fifth year of this column. It began as an effort to keep you informed of our real estate market in the face of gloomy news as the market began to sag in other locales. While the real estate bubble burst in some areas, we appeared still strong. It wasn't until late in 2008 that the cold reality struck - it was over. The phones grew silent as the snow began to pile up. Traffic came to a halt as the plows struggled to keep up with record snowfall that winter, on the heels of a record boom in the real estate market.
Thinking of past snow days
Snow day! As snow begins to pile up on my driveway this Sunday night the channel 6 weather lady cheerfully declares, “The storm is beginning to build.” A strong-front is approaching from the southwest meeting a cold-front from the northwest and converging and shaking hands in North Idaho to bring the great possibility of heavy snow to my hometown. This possibility proves true.

Bible not in conflict with science
There has been a recent spate of letters to the Editor and a My Turn column on the theory of evolution. While these letters ping-pong back and forth, with many feeling that it's wasted paper with neither side convincing the other, I am compelled to write once more to elaborate my point of view.
