Former attorney implores board, college leaders to take immediate steps to maintain accreditation
North Idaho College trustees will attempt to correct numerous open meeting law violations made last week when they convene Wednesday. Meanwhile, the college’s former attorney has cautioned NIC leadership that doubling down on recent decisions will result in “cataclysmic damage to the institution.”

NIC’s future uncertain if accreditation is lost
If North Idaho College loses accreditation, two things are certain: credits earned won’t be transferable and students won’t be eligible for federal financial aid. Beyond that, the path is foggy.

Groups call for NIC president to be reinstated
North Idaho College faculty and staff issued votes of no confidence in the board of trustees this week. MY TURN: Homeowners exemption program needs an update
As a trustee on the District 271 school board in Coeur d’Alene, I spend substantial time thinking about how to lower the property tax burden in our district while also ensuring our public schools have the financial resources they need to provide excellent educational resources and opportunities to our students.
NIC TRUSTEES: Goal is to lose accreditation
With the new motions to install Macomber and remove and place the current president of NIC on leave and re-install the inept Sebaaly shows the board of trustee members sponsored by the KRCC have only one goal: To lose accreditation for the college.
NIC: Banducci should be banished
The continuing coverage of the Banducci Machine that runs the NIC Board of Trustees continues to disturb my morning mocha time at Evans Brothers.
OPINION: American fascism
We see the effect of perspective even in our local paper. When liberals interrupt, yell insults, try to force and agenda change and pull the fire alarm twice at an NIC Trustee meeting the headline is “Sebaaly turns down trustees” but when conservatives concerned about mask mandates in schools gather outside the school district building the headline is “CDA school board meeting disrupted, then canceled.”
NIC BOARD: Ruled by two trustees’ personal agendas
I’ve been an Idaho resident for 53 years, with grandchildren born in Kootenai County.

Longtime NIC lawyer says he met his ethical obligations
The former attorney for North Idaho College is pushing back against accusations leveled against him by Art Macomber, the college's new legal counsel.
State’s control limited at NIC
Next trustee meeting rescheduled
Though state-level leaders are closely watching the chaos at North Idaho College, they have limited control over the college’s operations. “It is unfortunate to see the college experiencing turmoil amid an ongoing investigation into its accreditation — which would significantly impact current NIC students, businesses and the entire region if lost,” Madison Hardy, Idaho Gov. Brad Little’s press secretary, said in a statement Wednesday. Comments from Little’s office came after three fiery meetings of the NIC board of trustees held last week.
