Military action not president's first choice, won't send ground forces to Libya

BRASILIA, Brazil (AP) - President Barack Obama authorized limited military action against Libya Saturday, saying Moammar Gadhafi's continued assault on his own people left the U.S. and its international partners with no other choice. Antibiotics: Friend or foe? Part II

Germs are becoming increasingly more resistant to our antibiotics, and as a result, stronger, more potentially dangerous antibiotics are necessitated. Keep in mind that any drug, whether by prescription or over the counter (OTC) has potentially serious side effects, and should be utilized only after researching the risks, including toxicity as a result of its consumption. Taste, taste, taste

Mary and I affectionately refer to tasting wine many times as "homework." For us while it really isn't work at all it is a big part of the job, as we never feel comfortable or confident recommending a wine to a customer if we have not tried it first regardless of the price we pay and therefore charge our customers, it has to meet our standards. Allegorically, customers can and for their own protection should approach wine the same way.

Random acts of green

I had the good fortune to feel that girlish glee again recently. Hardbound, clean dust jacket, popular fiction. Was it lost? I picked it up with the notion that I'd take it inside to the cashier. But a small yellow sticker on the spine of the book caught my eye. The sticker read, "Traveling Book! Look inside..."

FAITHFUL OBSERVATIONS: Trail Life USA

For more than a hundred years, the Boy Scouts has been an integral part of our culture. Earning the Eagle designation was something that was listed on most men’s résumé if they achieved it. Presidents, governors, military officers and millions of boys have become better men because of their time in the Boy Scouts. As experience tells us, this did not happen coincidentally. Many of the men involved credit the experiences and training they received during their time in scouting to make them successful individuals.
