GETTYSBURG: Revised for 2020
Four years and many tweets ago our voters brought forth on this continent, a new President, who believes in Liberty, and is dedicated to the supposition that all Socialism is created evil.
THANKS: Article catalyst for support
We were so surprised that The Press published an article about our need to provide a service dog for our daughter, Evie. Your article was the catalyst in spreading the word to a community full of wonderful people who care.
JOBS: Bill is good deed indeed
The jobs act is what our country needs. Our president is looking out for every working class individual and looking to put so many jobs back into the economy we all need this.
OBAMA: Time to take nation back
Gas prices are rising very rapidly. The economy is getting worse. So where are we headed? It can’t be good. We are allowing our country to go down the drain because we aren’t paying attention. They are setting laws taking our freedoms away. This is not going to be the America that it is supposed to be much longer.
REBUKE: Criticism of cops was wrong
In response to a letter published Dec. 24, 2010, by Mr. Bill Sahlberg of Spokane Practical Pistol League Inc. (SPPL), I would like to point out that Mr. Sahlberg is certainly protected by our First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution in voicing his opinions. However, as most understand, an opinion may be voiced with no evidence of fact to support it.
SING: School has incredible program
As many people in North Idaho will say, we all have our favorite high school football teams. Much of the extracurricular activity funds are funneled to the athletic departments of our schools. But, there is another incredible extracurricular activity that Post Fall High School is also well known for that many in our area have never experienced.
PARADE: A Divaz salute
Thank you to the citizens of Coeur d’Alene and all those who came out to the Independence Day Parade. As a member of the Blazen Divaz performing group, this is always a fun-filled parade. Our group has represented Idaho this year at the 75th Anniversary of Pearl Harbor and at the 2017 DC Cherry Blossom Parade. We have also done the Osburn, Wallace and Post Falls parades, giving to the local communities where many of our members were born.
TRANSSEXUALS: Respect their rights
May God’s circle of love protect the transsexual men and women of our nation, and the world.
NONINI: Proven to be effective
My husband and I had a disagreement with our insurance agent and were faced with a crisis. We filed a complaint with the Idaho Department of Insurance in Boise. Knowing that we were located in Coeur d’Alene, the agent at the Department of Insurance in Boise recommended calling Bob Nonini, he is an “amazing Senator for the people.” So I did call our Senator, Bob Nonini. His wife Cathyanne answered the phone. Bob Nonini talked to me for an hour and a half from his home about our health insurance issue.
THOMAS: From one treasurer to another
I am writing this letter in support of Laurie Thomas for Kootenai County Treasurer. I am in my 12th year as Lewis County Treasurer. During that time, Laurie has been very active in our Treasurer’s Association. She has helped in training treasurers in our association through our education program.
EDINGER: A neighborhood champ
Ron Edinger deserves your vote for the Coeur d’Alene City Council so he can continue serving the residents of this community as he has for the past 40 years. When our east Mullan neighborhood was seeking changes to protect the future and vitality of our neighborhood, Ron was invariably the one on the council making the motion to support our requests. He recognizes that strong neighborhoods are the key to a vibrant city. Ron’s votes reflect the values of his constituents.
THANKS: PF to the rescue
My husband and I are so grateful to the people of Post Falls who helped us recently when our RV broke down. A wonderful couple came to our rescue and worked with my husband for hours attempting to replace a fan belt. When that was unsuccessful, they helped us locate the nearest repair shop, tow service, and even a motel for the night. We are so appreciative of what they did.
STR HOTLINE: Too many STRs will ruin city
In regard to the “hotline” STR complaints, thank you City Council. To start with, understand the majority of residents aren’t against STRs, it is the sheer number per block we are against.
Post Falls American Legion removes Confederate flag from historical display
Legion leadership responds to controversy on social media
Post Falls American Legion Post 143 has removed a Confederate flag from its display of historical American battle flags in response to outcry on social media.
BIDEN: An Unfit Ruler
It states in Exodus 22:28 — “You shall not revile God, nor curse a ruler of your people.”
SPENDING: Should be local, not on Pentagon

SCHOOLS: Excellence above equity

CHURCH: A Christian taxpayer’s piece
As a 40-plus year Christian taxpayer in North Idaho, I felt the need to comment on the recent building of a so-called “church” up on Highway 54 between Athol and Spirit Lake.
EDUCATION: Ralph is right
Ralph K. Ginorio really hit the nail on the head concerning our system of education.
BORDER: Another Biden disaster
The Biden Administration has no controls whatsoever on our nation’s southern border.
