City Council listens to testimony, doesn't add McEuen as agenda item
COEUR d'ALENE - A week after a subcommittee killed the request of a public vote regarding the McEuen Field redesign project from reaching the Coeur d'Alene City Council's desk, around 100 vote supporters attended the council's Tuesday meeting to ask that the topic come forward anyway.
Nutrition and the many options
For many of us, eating right ranks pretty high on the must do everyday scale. Eating a healthy and well balanced diet seems pretty straight forward. There are hundreds of books, countless diets to choose from and even your family doctor that can give you excellent advice on what to eat. So why is it that a one size fits all approach to good nutrition misses the mark for most of us?
This winter quench your skin from the inside out!
For glowing, vibrant and younger-looking skin, what you put on your plate is just as important as what you put on your skin. Everything that you eat contributes to the inner and outer you, so why take chances when it comes to healthy skin? A balanced diet is the best insurance for skin, but here are some nutrients to pay particular attention to.
A coconut cake for Easter
It's just not Easter without some sort of coconut dessert, whether it's a classic Southern coconut cake or a creamy coconut chocolate egg. So this year we decided to take our inspiration from both of those to create a fresh, yet still familiar dessert for rounding out our Easter dinner.
4-H Food Smart Families serves Cd'A community
More than 100 years ago Idaho 4-H started revolutionizing how science was taught outside the classroom. In its advancement, nearly 100 topic areas have been developed for youth to study. Topics revolve around three areas: Healthy Living, Science and Citizenship. Each area uses research-based curriculum from The University of Idaho's Extension system. County-based Extension faculty and staff partner with community volunteers to deliver 4-H topics to nearly 70,000 youth each year.

ADLER: Hearing is believing
David Adler has written an excellent article in the Coeur d’Alene Press that we all should read. I have heard him speak at the Coeur d’Alene library twice in the past year and three months. He is a constitutional scholar and spoke on this topic both times. He makes every effort to address certain issues as written and defined by the courts over the years. He is open to all questions whether on his topic or to address questions by individuals in attendance. Even if the questioner disagrees with what he has said and chooses to attack him personally, Mr. Adler acknowledges the person and explains what the courts have ruled or the understood intent of the Constitution.
