The look of the upcoming London Games

One hundred days out from the Olympics and, finally, last week came some news we can use. U.S. Olympic officials trotted out the official team attire for the games, and everyone seemed pretty excited about the Ralph Lauren line that will make America's team look like it just stepped off a 1920s steamship in London.

AIRPORT: Need more probing

Where are the investigative reporters from the Coeur d’Alene Press? Why are they not asking questions of the participants in the firing of Greg Delavan — the Hayden city managers, the commissioners, the probable developers waiting in the wings, etc. Let’s have an article with some answers. Don’t leave it to all the people who have written letters and gone to meetings to keep this in the public eye.

CoiNuts travesty revisited

Congratulations to Kevin Mitchell for demonstrating to our community that if you are a con-man, scam artist or hustler you are welcome in Kootenai County, Idaho, and you should have absolutely no fear of being brought to justice by Mr. Barry McHugh the head prosecutor of Kootenai County. As I sadly write this letter I can't help looking at the CoiNuts victims list containing the names of more than 50 of Mitchell's victims who were taken by this man with a total monetary loss of more than $1.4 million. Digest that fact for a moment. If one were to look into this case you would find that the facts and allegations began to mount many months ago at which time the case was presented to Mc Hugh and his folks by the Coeur d'Alene Police Dept. In McHugh's infinite wisdom he decided that this set of circumstances did not warrant prosecution as intent, he felt, could not be shown.

Obstructive sleep apnea and glaucoma

Hokkaido University in Japan has a group of scientists who have studied the relationship between obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and glaucoma, and they have found that there can be damage to the optic nerve in patients with OSA. But the interesting thing is that the lack of oxygen due to the OSA does not cause a brief sharp increase in eye pressure. Therefore, these patients with glaucoma have normal eye pressures.
