Leland E. Hodge, 75
Leland’s parents, Mr. William Henry Hodge and Nellie Gladys Cooper, were united in marriage at his father Steve and Barbara Hodge’s home. They moved into an old log house on School Street at the foot of the city park, where the first five children were born. They had four girls, Fay, Betty, Ida and Deloris. After the girls, they finally had a son which made us all so very happy. Leland was born on Dec. 13, 1936, a beautiful baby boy who made all his sisters very proud to have a brother. When Leland was 3 years old, the family moved to Union, Ore. They lived there for about 3 years and Leland started 1st grade. When Leland was 6, a pair of twin brothers joined the family. On April 30, 1942, Wayne Keith Hodge and Dwaine Kay were born. It was very exciting to have two newborns join the family.
