Spinal decompression for neck pain
Neck pain can be disruptive to your life. Cervical spine imbalances and structural changes are quite common in individuals who have been injured from motor vehicle accidents (regardless of the severity of the impact), sports injuries or who perform repetitive work movements. If you are an office worker who sits for 6 to 8 hours daily, then you are at a higher risk of developing nerve compression of the cervical spine. This is mainly due to ergonomic workstations that can cause poor postural habits and lead to excessive stress on the cervical spine.
Bear leaves Montana cabin den
PHILIPSBURG, Mont. (AP) — A 200-pound black bear that swiped some blankets and pillows from a western Montana cabin to line his makeshift den in the cabin's crawl space has moved on.

“Cervical radiculopathy is the clinical description of when a nerve root in the cervical spine becomes inflamed or damaged, resulting in a change in neurological function.” Damage to the nerve root could be caused by traumatic injury, bulging disc, degenerative disc disease, or stenosis. You may have symptoms that include neck pain, stiffness and decreased range of motion. “Neurological deficits, such as numbness, altered reflexes, or weakness, may radiate anywhere from the neck into the shoulder, arm, hand or fingers.”

Whiplash and radiculopathy
We all know someone who has been in a car accident and diagnosed with a cervical sprain or strain injury also referred to as whiplash. It can often have serious consequences depending on the severity of the impact. Whiplash is one of the most devastating injuries you can have to your cervical spine. There is rapid acceleration followed by a rapid deceleration movement that is powerful enough to tear muscles and ligaments, bruise soft tissue, and even herniate cervical discs. The worst part about it is the fact that this condition is often overlooked, and many symptoms do not begin to appear until hours, days or even weeks after the accident.
Getting on your nerves: Spinal compression
Ask your audiologist...
I worry about my parents because when they go to bed and take out their hearing aids they will not be able to hear the smoke detector. Is there a solution for this?
Degenerative disc disease
Degeneration of the discs particularly in the moving sections of the spine (cervical and lumbar levels) is a natural process of aging. This dehydration of the disc material reduces the flexibility and typically the height of the disc.

Fibromyalgia and neck pain
How can a spinal problem possibly contribute to your fibromyalgia symptoms? As with many disorders, especially pain, the nervous system is involved. The nervous system can get affected through structural changes in the spine. The classic example is the lumbar disk bulge producing a painful sciatic nerve, but there are also other ways that problems in the spine interfere with the function of nervous system.
