All olive oils are not created equally
One of the key ingredients to a long and healthy life is olive oil. For years dietitians have been promoting the use of olive oil as a heart-healthy monounsaturated fat. Because of its rich source of tocopherols, carotenoids and polyphenols, which have anti-inflammatory properties olive oil has been shown to provide cardiovascular and anti-cancer effects. Italy, Spain and Greece are the major producers of olive oil and it is the principal source of dietary fat in these countries. But not all olives or olive oils are created equally.

These systems are used in tons of industries; you’re probably most familiar with toll tags for your car and implanted “chips” that can identify a pet. Both employ this useful idea, which goes by the shorthand RFID.

ADVERTISING: Advertorial — The link between gut health and food sensitivities
It is estimated that more than 33 million Americans have food allergies and/or sensitivities, including almost six million children under age 18 — but that is likely a gross undercalculation. The most common food allergies include milk and dairy, eggs, fish and shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat and soybeans, but people can be sensitive to just about anything. Since food allergies and sensitivities were almost unheard of 50 years ago, what is causing this modern epidemic?

HEALTH: A step in right direction
Audacious! After the Supreme Court decision, President Obama said the health care plan was not done for political reasons, but because it was the right thing to do. It’s ironic that Obama’s health care plan was first introduced by Romney, who is now attacking it. People with a pre-existing condition can now get health care, there is no dollar limit, and our children can stay on our insurance until the age of 26. It provides affordable medication for the elderly.
