Principal Dan Nicklay didn't even see the "for sale" sign when he first pulled up to the school. "My first thought was, 'What the heck's that doing here?'" Nicklay said. Then he realized it was the 2024 senior prank, and all gasps of astonishment were replaced with chuckles and sighs of relief.

I’m really excited for the future. I told them hang your head high … everybody had us the No. 4 team (out of four) in the league and we won league, won districts and beat the No. 1 team in the state. We weren’t even supposed to be here, so for us, that’s a win. Next year, we’re coming back, and we’re going to be stronger.”

“I’ll miss this team,” fifth-year NIC coach Shay Chapman said. “They’re good people and so much fun to coach. The sophomores left their legacy here, and should feel good about where we left it. I’ll miss the NWAC, but I’m happy with the next chapter we’re getting into.”
