Last Friday, members of the Coeur d’Alene High girls basketball program participated in a volunteer initiative in partnership with the Brighter Life Foundation.
The Brighter Life Foundation’s collaboration with local nonprofit organizations provides free meals to individuals in need within the community. Through the foundation’s partnership with CoPow, every meal purchased results in another meal being donated to someone in need. “This initiative has made a tangible difference in countless lives, and our team was proud to contribute to this cause,” Coeur d’Alene coach Stacy Boyd said.
The players assisted in the preparation and packaging of pre-made meals for delivery. The event took place at the CoPow Foods Distribution Kitchen in Post Falls. Pictured clockwise from front left are Kelsey Carroll, Lexi Wheeler, Hannah Shafer, Natalie Semprimoznik, Karisa Wallis, Brookeslee Colvin and Kyndal Bridge. Other players who assisted were Bre Reardon and Carlee Bowmer.
"As the first-year head coach of the CHS girls basketball program, this event epitomized the vision I have for our team,” Boyd said. “By fostering strong bonds off the court, our players have cultivated a level of cohesion and trust that has translated into their success during game competition. I am incredibly proud of the way our players represented Coeur d'Alene High School and the positive impact they’ve made within our community.”
