All Super One stores will accept donations at the check stands to help the nonprofit group raise enough money to distribute turkeys the week before Thanksgiving. It began with a literal boatload of birds. Give Hunger the Bird, a fundraiser for 3rd Avenue Marketplace, comes from humble origins. Over a decade ago, StanCraft Marine Center owner Robb Bloem dreamed it up as a way to have fun and collect some frozen turkeys for the community ahead of Thanksgiving.
