New fire trucks with extended reach can cost $1 million dollars or more, but Shoshone County was able to purchase a truck with 100-foot ladder capabilities from Kootenai Fire and Rescue in 2023. The truck cost $221,000 and an additional $60,000 on equipment to outfit it for service. The quint truck entered into service for Shoshone County this week.
