The Thorns North 2009 girls won the Idaho State Cup championship on Sunday in Boise with a 1-0 defeat of the Idaho Rush 09 Elite 64 in double overtime.  Katie Kovatch scored the game-winning goal in overtime, and goalkeeper Savannah Spencer logged 18 saves and a clean sheet in the match. With the victory, the Thorns qualified to represent Idaho in the U.S. Youth Soccer Far West President's Cup in Salt Lake City on June 14-18.
