The Windermere Foundation of Coeur d'Alene recently awarded $500 to Turkeys and More nonprofit organization to support its Turkeys and More 2024 program. Funds will be used to purchase turkeys and Thanksgiving food items for low-income or homeless residents. Money is requested in advance of the holiday season so the organization can take advantage of lower prices. Their target is to assist 8,000-9,000 families in Kootenai County and the surrounding area with the help of local food banks. Recipients will be those families with financial hardship status reported by the United Way ALICE report.
