Turkeys & More thanks Unity Center for Spiritual Growth for being a Diamond ($5,000) donor again this year. Turkey founder Evalyn Adams said this effort by Unity members provided enough funds to make the $60,000 goal within reach by Thanksgiving. She said the nonprofit only needs about $4,000 more to be able to pay for 2,000 turkeys, which will be distributed on Friday, Nov. 17. About 10,000 people will have a much more joyous holiday because of the wonderful community support from organizations and individuals in Kootenai County. Donations will still be appreciated and can be mailed to P.O. Box 267, Coeur d'Alene, ID 83816; or people can donate safely online at turkeysandmore.org. Adams said they are very thankful for all the donors who have helped to Fight Hunger and Feed Hope this year. Special thanks to the Coeur Group, who will help to distribute turkeys to food banks and social service agencies; and to the NIC wrestlers who will pass it out to those who pre-registered. For more information, Adams can be reached at 208-765-5535.
