Turkeys & More President Nancy Nelson thanks Walmart at Stateline for a Platinum donation of $1,000. This and other donations are helping the nonprofit group pay for 2,000 Thanksgiving turkeys. The Mullan Avenue Walmart in Post Falls was a Gold donor of $500. These birds will be distributed on Friday, Nov. 17 to more than 20 local food banks and agencies serving vulnerable populations. It's not too late to make a donation by sending a check to P.O. Box 267, Coeur d'Alene, ID 83816; or giving safely online at turkeysandmore.org. Founder Evalyn Adams said only about $4,000 still needs to be raised to pay for the turkeys. All Super 1 stores in Kootenai County are now accepting donations at the check stand.
