Two Platinum donors of $1,000 took a big bite out of hunger for Thanksgiving dinners in November. Special thanks to Idaho Central Credit Union and Monogram Homes for assisting with this annual event to provide turkeys for 2,000 vulnerable families in November. Founder Evalyn Adams said donations can be made online by going to the website at turkeysandmore.org, or checks can be mailed to P.O. Box 267, Coeur d'Alene, ID 83816. The tradition of helping others less fortunate at Thanksgiving time has been successful because of wonderful support from the community. Adams said donations of any size are welcome to help the volunteer committee Fight Hunger and Feed Hope. By raising money now, Turkeys & More will be able to purchase the turkeys necessary for those who pre-register and also distribute turkeys to other food banks in Kootenai County and agencies that help those less fortunate. It is anticipated more than 10,000 family members will enjoy a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner in their homes because of help from others in the community. If you have questions or want to serve on the committee, you are welcome to call Adams at 208-765-5535 or email evalynera@hotmail.com.
