The Thorns North FC 11 Girls Academy soccer team competed last weekend in the Bill Eisenwinter Hot Shot Tournament, taking first place in the U13G Silver Bracket, outscoring their opponents 14-3. The Thorns started the tournament on Saturday with a 5-0 win over the Timbers-Thorns North FC Sandpoint Strikers FC 2010G. Presley Moreau finished the game with 2 goals, one on an assist from Payton Brennan. Teammates Brightyn Gatten, Payton Brennan and Mackenzie Dolan each scored. Dolan's goal came on an assist from Aubrey Sargent. Later that day the Thorns beat the EW Surf SC G10 Staples 4-0. Kylie Lorona started the game off with a goal coming off an assist from Presley Moreau. Brightyn Gatten quickly followed this goal with one of her own. In the second half Mackenzie Dolan scored on an assist from Kylie Lorona and Olivia Nusser finished the game with a goal scored from a free kick. Sunday morning the Thorns beat the Spokane Sounders Shadow G2010 Copa 2-1. Presley Moreau and Olivia Hynes scored the game's two goals helping the Thorns head to the championship game undefeated. The Championship game resulted in a 3-2 Thorns victory against Albion SC Idaho 2010 Academy. Constance Ovendale scored her first goal of the weekend on an assist from Presley Moreau. Presley scored her own goal a few minutes later, bringing her weekend total to 4 goals.  Kylie Lorona scored the Thorns' final goal of the tournament on an assist from Olivia Hynes. Keepers MacKenzie Dolan and Constance Ovendale held their opponents to three goals for the weekend.
