Lakeland teens win essay contest to fly with faculty and air guard
During a roughly 3 hour flight from Fairchild Air Force Base, Lakeland High School students had full range of a KC-135 plane to do whatever they wanted, and watched as air guard pilots refueled a plane from inside the “boombox”, where they were close enough to see the patches on the other pilots’ uniforms.
