The Layne Woolley Memorial Scholarship is awarded to one senior student-athlete at Coeur d'Alene High School and one senior student-athlete at Lake City High School each year. The scholarship amount is $500 to each recipient. Each recipient must have participated in Coeur d'Alene Junior Tackle. This scholarship is in memory of Layne Woolley, who participated in Coeur d'Alene Junior Tackle from 2003-08. Layne was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma. According to Coeur d'Alene Junior Tackle, "Layne was a wonderful friend and teammate to everyone who knew him. He was an outstanding student and a wonderful football player. His coach, Bobby Fitzgerald, said he was the best 3-back to ever play Coeur d'Alene Junior Tackle. He was so coachable; however, he was told to execute each play that is how he did it. Every player was inspired to do better from the influence of Layne Woolley."
