Henry Madden hit an RBI triple for Sandpoint, and Coen Leavitt, Kaleb Bogadi and Cruz Oliver all had run-scoring singles. Erik Hanson struck out seven in the game, called after four innings due to the 10-run rule. Sandpoint, which improved to 4-1 in pool play, plays Post Falls (2-3 in pool play) today at 12:15 p.m. at Croffoot Park on the final day of pool play. In other games Saturday, it was Coeur d’Alene 13, Post Falls 0, and Lewiston 10, Hayden 6. In other pool play finale games today at 12:15, Coeur d’Alene (5-0) plays Lewiston (4-1) at Canfield Sports Complex in Coeur d’Alene, and St. Maries (0-5) plays Lakeland (0-5) at Croffoot Park. Coeur d’Alene has outscored its five opponents 76-0. The top two teams following pool play will meet in a best-of-3 series July 14-16 at Croffoot Park for the District 1 title and a trip to the state playoff series in Boise vs. a District 2 team.
