STCU has been a $5,000 Diamond sponsor for several years to provide Turkeys & More funds to buy turkeys for the annual Thanksgiving distribution. Coordinator Evalyn Adams said they were thrilled to receive this boost as donations have been running behind last year. And, it appears turkeys are going to be more expensive because of a bird flu, which caused many birds to be destroyed. The goal is to serve 1,800 vulnerable families in Kootenai County in November, which will feed more than 7,000 people. Without the kind support of local businesses and individuals, it would be very difficult to Fight Hunger and Feed Hope this year. Adams said donations will be gratefully received at Turkeys & More, P.O. Box 267, Coeur d'Alene, ID 83816. For more information or to help, please contact Adams at 208-765-5535 or evalynera@hotmail.com. Checks should be made out to Turkeys & More, which has achieved IRS approval to be a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit this year.
