The exchange desk in the Coeur d'Alene Target was fully staffed Dec. 26, but wet weather and rain kept people from returning unwanted Christmas items. Stores had huge after Christmas sales but only sparse crowds for the observed Christmas holiday.

Dec. 26 is typically a popular day to return unwanted gifts and get deep, post-holiday discounts, but Monday’s rain on top of existing snow prevented many local stores from seeing lines at their return counters.
