The Timbers North FC 09 boys Red soccer team took first place in the U13 Gold Division at the Pend Oreille Cup in Sandpoint on Sept. 17-19. On Friday the Timbers won 3-0 vs. Spokane Vela. Luke Fritts scored two goals, one assisted by Mason Taylor. Brooks Judd scored the third goal with an assist from Blake Wise. On Saturday the Timbers won 3-0 over the Missoula Strikers Red. Taylor Smith opened the scoring with an assist by Sam Mandel. Blake Wise scored the second goal. Taylor Smith scored the third goal with an assist from Ethan Luna. On Sunday in the championship game, the Timbers were victorious again over Missoula Strikers, 4-0. Taylor Smith scored two goals and had an assist to Isaac Lowder for a header goal. Rowan Wyatt had one assist, and Sam Mandel also scored one goal. Grant Johnson, Taylor Smith and Stefan Pawlik combined efforts throughout the weekend to keep the clean sheet in goal.
