Imperial Japanese Navy Vice Admiral Chuichi Noguma (1887-1944) was one of Japan’s best admirals, commanding attacks on Pearl Harbor and Midway, was later demoted and took his own life at the Battle of Saipan, rather than face another Japanese defeat.
