“Bobby was doing such a good job for us,” NIC Vice President of Student Services Graydon Stanley said. “We’re going to miss hin because he did a great job in just under two years here. He was stabilizing things with the sanctions and did a really good job of getting us back on track, and we’ll miss him a lot.”
NIC ATHLETICS: Sanctions stick for men's basketball until 2022
Penalties for the men's basketball program, which were handed out in August of 2019, included vacating league championships from the 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons, the loss of four scholarships for each of the next three years, a 10-game suspension of head coach Corey Symons, a three-year ban from postseason play, three years' probation for the athletic department and a $30,000 fine.
NWAC SPORTS: With a lot of unknown, conference opts not to hold championship tournaments
With a lot of unknown still surrounding the Northwest Athletic Conference, conference officials made one thing known to its member programs on Sunday. For this year, at least, there will be no conference championship tournaments for the 2020-21 season.
