Courtesy photo The Thorns 03/04 girls soccer team travelled to a windy Las Vegas on April 23-25th to play in the Las Vegas Players Showcase soccer tournament. The Thorns started play on Friday afternoon, losing 2-0 to the LA Surf Southwest 03 Cano-Bozart group. On Saturday the Thorns defeated the Glendale FC G2003 Red club 4-0, with goals scored by Claire Romero, Ellie Morrisroe (2), and Taytum Curtis. Taytum Curtis also had three (3) assists, and Danika Nowak and Hailey Parks combined in goal for the shutout. Saturday afternoon the Thorns defeated the Riverside MGM Fury 3-1, with goals scored by Claire Romero, Taytum Curtis, and Reese Ramsrud. The final game on Sunday resulted in another win over LA Surf G03 Acuno 3-0, with goals scored by Ellie Morrisroe, Taytum Curtis and Claire Romero. Olivia Wyatt and Kallie McKellips had assists, and Danika Nowak and Hailey Parks again teamed in goal for the shutout.
