Matthew Hammerschmidt, right, and Dasan Zahn, both of Bismarck, N.D., visit Old Granary Burying Ground in Boston, Saturday, March, 14, 2020. Fans of the Boston Bruins, they had flown in specifically for Saturday night's game against the Toronto Maple Leafs. The pair said they learned that the NHL had suspended play due to concern about the coronavirus just as the plane was touching down in Boston. For most people, the new coronavirus causes only mild or moderate symptoms, such as fever and cough. For some, especially older adults and people with existing health problems, it can cause more severe illness, including pneumonia. The vast majority of people recover from the new virus.
